#793, Decomposed Granite Ballast: This decomposed granite ballast can be used as a track base and other locations throughout your layout. It's made from crushed walnut shells and its color is naturally brown to light brown. As a natural organic item, this product can be dyed to any color to match your layout needs. Comes in a 7 oz. bag
Our Ballast is prepared by a process with blending of colors to produce the full realism of actual ballasted roadbed without the problems encountered in the use of crushed rock or sand which may have magnetic particles that could be drawn into the mechanism by the magnetic field of the motor.
It is the perfect companion for the highly popular Profile Ties. Our ballasts have been used very successfully in strategic places on our displays and dioramas. It is non-magnetic and non-abrasive while being light in weight, and it can be applied with any of the usual glues.
