A normally busy mine would have several ore cars, or hopper cars spotted on a siding, and the way-freight could pick up two or three loads each day--and leave empties to replace them.

The impressive wealth of detail provided in this kit gives the authentic atmosphere of an old-time deep-shaft mine. While the prototype was a gold mine in Oatman, Arizona, it is typical of mines for other minerals and ores. Both wood and metal are used in the kit. Most of the wood parts have been cut to length, and the necessary angle cuts are easily made with a razor saw and Miter Jr., or an X-Acto knife.

The kit includes shaft lining, ore hopper and hoist shack. The Instruction Sheet is complete, and includes suggestions for alternate arrangements such as locating the Hopper at a distance, with the typical spindly trestle-work in between. The metal parts include the micro-detailed Wheel, and Pillow Blocks.
