A variation of the short, low trestles seen so frequently, is this 'Open Deck' Trestle of the more conventional design. Here the rails are mounted directly on the long bridge-ties, with guard-timbers on each side for safety. Mounted on bents with scale 16" piles, the open-deck construction allows you to see through just enough to give that 'trestle-feeling'. Complete with fire barrel & platform, and planked abutments, this trestle is designed to a 50 scale foot span. However, like the Ballasted Deck Pile Trestle, it can be divided into two shorter spans, or combined with others for any length needed.
